Do you charge a retainer fee or any ongoing monthly fees?

Because we work primarily with start-ups and small businesses we do not charge a retainer fee. We understand the daily challenges that entrepreneurs face so we try to make marketing as easy as possible. When you need additional work just give us a call, we will provide you with a quote, and schedule your project. That said, if you know that you will need monthly maintenance for search engine optimization or pay per click campaign management then we recommend that you prepay at least a month in advance to make sure that we allocate enough time for your project.

Do you accept clients outside of San Diego County?

Absolutely! The internet has literally transformed the way that business is done. We can collaborate with a client anywhere, at anytime. We subscribe to a number of web based services which make collaboration just as easy for our remote clients as it is for clients who are in our neighborhood. Some of these tools include toll-free telephone numbers, desktop sharing software, and video conferencing.

Are there any challenges to working with clients who are outside of San Diego County?

Absolutely not! The process remains exactly the same for our clients who are out of state as it is for our clients who are local. Feel free to give us a call and we will schedule a demo of our video sharing software and video conferencing utilities.

How long does it take to design a website?

We allocate between 4-6 weeks for our static web design packages and between 6-8 weeks for our dynamic web design packages. The majority of this time is not spent writing HTML, CSS, Javascript, or PHP code. The majority of this time is spent researching your industry, providing recommendations, helping you choose the right software platforms, helping you target your content, and helping you choose the right companies to purchase your necessary products (i.e. domain names, web hosting, website management software, pay-per-click accounts, additional training, etc. ). When you purchase a web design package from Dani Marie Designs you are not just paying to have code written, you are paying for a personal guide to walk you through the ever changing trends and fads of the internet.

What is your design process?

  1. Once your project is scheduled to begin, we ask you to complete a quick survey and list five websites that you like and five dislikes.
  2. We conduct a bit of research on your competitors to make sure that your website is consistent with your customers’ expectations.
  3. You tell us which pages you want and what text or images you would like on each page.
  4. We review the material submitted combined with our research and then create an impactful solution for your business.
  5. Once the initial design is complete we present a live version of the website and discuss your likes and dislikes.
  6. You then have a week to compile a list of requested revisions and modifications to the design.
  7. We make certain to address each of your concerns by either implementing your request or by finding a viable solution
  8. Once the revisions are complete we present you with the revised version of your website and begin publishing it.

Wow, why so many steps? Can we eliminate a step or two?

We realize that every project is different and we are willing to adapt to each client’s style. That said, we highly recommend the aforementioned process. Why? Because your website is an integral part of your business and our process allows for ample time to ensure that what we are designing is exactly what you need. Our goal is to deliver a product that will meet your business’ needs for the next 2-3 years.

Why is your deposit 50% of the project cost?

We allocate between 4-5 weeks for our static web design packages and between 4-6 weeks for our dynamic web design packages. The majority of this time is not spent writing HTML, CSS, Javascript, or PHP code. The majority of this time is spent researching your industry, providing recommendations, helping you choose the right software platforms, helping you target your content, and helping you choose the right companies to purchase your necessary products (i.e. domain names, web hosting, website management software, pay-per-click accounts, additional training, etc. ). This actually accounts for about 50% of the project which is why we charge 50% of the projects’ cost upfront. After, we lay all of the ground work in place the technical aspects of building the website are easy.

After my website is complete what can I do to promote it?

Online marketing can be a bit confusing and sometimes overwhelming. We created this diagram to help business owners identify areas for improvement and prioritize where to focus their efforts. Online marketing starts with a solid website. This cannot be understated. Without a solid website these additional recommendations will not make much of an impact. If you have a solid website then we recommend starting in the center of the diagram and working your way out. The items on the outer ring hold less importance that those in the center.

What else can I do to promote my business?

Offline marketing is still critical towards running a successful business. If you want to build a solid reputation amongst your peers then you must have professional print materials. An eye catching logo, business cards, and brochures are essential when trying to portray a professional image. Again start in the middle of the diagram and work your way towards the outer rings.
